The Mental Health Association is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that is represented by a board made up of individuals united by their concern for promoting mental well being and improving mental health services in Belize.
There is much to be done:
The MHA is striving to achieve its role in advocacy, education and service while remaining responsive to change and current events. Our members are committed to improving the mental health of all Belizeans with a special emphasis on improving the quality of life for people with mental illnesses. In recent years many positive changes have occurred but we still have some distance to go. Your member- ship will assist us with these developments and contribute to this important, collective effort.

All members of the MHA are volunteers and with them they bring enthusiasm, skills, ideas and understanding. The membership is diverse and strives to be representative. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or member kindly complete the attached form or contact us for further information.
VISION:
The Mental Health Association will become a sustainably funded and staffed organization with active participation of consumers and will provide public education and advocacy on mental health issues and pursue key initiatives in community based services tailored to individual needs.
MISSION:
The Mental Health Association is dedicated to raising awareness about issues related to mental well being, improving mental health services, and advocating on behalf of those with mental illness and their families.
Organizational Structure
A Board of Directors with President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and six other members, that meets once per month.
Board is elected on an annual basis. Some members represent institutions and are nominated by that institution.
The Board decides on all activities for the MHA including fundraising, special projects and advocacy.
